By both their actions and refusal to help , the society represent the sealand woman shows itself to be as prejudiced and intolrant as the people in Waknuk.Do you agree? I do not agree to this statement. When the telepaths fled to Sealand from Waknuk. The sealand woman were friendly toward them.In chapt 17, daivd was trapped and the woman told him and David ways to free him and ease themselves, this shows that they are not refusing to help but willing to do so and not prejudiced toward the waknuk people as she was actually willing to help a people in Waknuk. Also, They too believed that they could create a better world than the old people and in the story there isnt any dicrimition between the Sealand and Waknuk people. The evidence is"But we do know that we can make a better world than the old people did."And "the sea land woman came in reassuring us again, telling us to keep calm and have patience... Petra, darling, you heard what she says.You must try to keep stilL" "the waiting seemed interminable. my skin crawled under of touchof stuff, and the pull of it was becoming painful." The end justifies that means : To preserve their species and way of life the people of labrador are justified in their various measure taken to ensure the purity of their species. I agree with this stament.The people of Labrador believed in the 'real' image of God they could not stand any difference from one to another (even the littlest difference). If one were difference, he/she would face the pilght of being banished to another country, look down upon, treated badly or even faced the fate of being killed.This can be seen when Sophie had a extra toe, just one little toe on the foot, she was sterilised and was banished to the Fringes.Davids being a left-handed had also caused slight disapproval among the district.When Petra was born, the inspector arrived to check if she were a true form of femal huaman beings. The evidence is "...he offically found the child to be a true female human beings,free from any dectectable form of deviation...At least Petra's existence could be admitted." This shows that if a baby who did not 'pass' the inspector inspection, the baby existence could not be admitted. Everything must follow the image of the God, they believed. Sophie is a better choice to be David's wife instead of Rosalind. Do you agree? 1 PEE I do not agree that Sophie is a better choice to be David's wife instead of Rosalind. As Sophie was not a telepath, it would be difficult for David to communicated with Sophie while the other hand,Rosalind is also a telepath which made conversation or communication easier and if Joseph Strorm were to know about their marriage, he would have strongly disagree to his son's marriage for his wife was a deviation. Though Rosalind is also a deviation, it would be more easier for Rosalind to hide the fact that she's a Deviation because she look like a normal person unlike Sophie who had six toes. My evidence for telepaths look like normal person is 'she did appear as normal as a new-born baby ever looks..'and my evidence for Joseph Strorm unable to accept a deviation as his daughter in-law is 'The devil sends deviations among us to weaken us and tempt us away form Purity" . Uncle Axel and Mary had perform the role of parenthood to David more than his actual parents. Discuss. 1 PEE. I believe that Uncle Axel and Mary had perform the role of parenthood to David more than his very own parents because when Anne married Alan, fearing that Alan would reveal the telepath's power to the Inpector and they would be in danger. Uncle Axel killled Alan with an arrow. This is what Joseph Strorm would not do to help his son this can be seen as when Joseph Strorm knows that Sophie had six toes and his son know about it he beated David to know more about Sophie and just to note that just because he wanted to know more about Sophie, he beat David and if he were to know that actually his son were no different as Sophie, i believe he would report it to the Insepector as he was a god-fearing person. He would not have help his own son or do something like Uncle Axel did. After David had been punish by his father, David's mother perhaps was afraid of her husband did not came and comfort him, it was Mary who came and made little comforting noises as she dressed his back and it was also mary who tear a little as she help him to bed and fed him with some broth with a spoon.
